The Fires on Library and Marlboro Streets

The 3-alarm fire on Library and Marlboro Streets Tuesday morning might have ended up much worse than it did.

Had it not been for the fast response and the professionalism of the Chelsea Fire Department, many more buildings might have been destroyed on a freezing cold windy day.

Also, the response from our neighboring communities was profound.

There was enough apparatus at the scene and manpower to knock down a 6 alarm fire.

Only the luck of the draw saved all the residents made homeless by these fires from being injured in the process.

Our gratitude to our firefighters and to everyone involved in trying to reduce the suffering of our residents during a time of disaster.
