Lifelong Chelsea resident
Richard Francis Dobbyn, a lifelong resident of Chelsea, passed away peacefully on the morning of August 23, 2026 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 64 years of age. Richard attended Chelsea public schools and worked as a laborer for various general contractors throughout his working career.
Richard is survived by his mother, Bernice Dobbyn of Chelsea, his stepmother, Patricia Dobbyn, his brother, David Dobbyn and his wife, Patricia of Connecticut and their children, Nicholas, Sara, Daniel, Alicia and Samantha, and his youngest brother, Brian of Chelsea. Richard was predeceased by his father, Richard F. Dobbyn, Sr. and is also lovingly survived by many great-nieces and nephews, his beloved cat, Buddy and many friends.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours at the Carafa Family Funeral Home, 389 Washington Ave., CHELSEA, on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 8 to 11 a.m. Funeral Services will follow the visitation in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m/ Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
