The Chelsea Chamber of Commerce was set to honor Gail Mauch with a moment of silence at its Pot-O-Gold Dinner Wednesday night at Anthony’s, Malden. Gail (Robinson) Mauch died Sunday, Oct. 20 following a courageous battle against cancer. Gail was a great supporter of the Chamber of Commerce and other organizations in the city. Gail and her husband, D. Bruce Mauch, particularly enjoyed the Pot-O-Gold Dinner where they would always be attired in eye-catching and matching costumes, having been perennial contenders for the night’s best costume award.
Leo Robinson, dean of Chelsea city government, sat proudly with his sister, Gail, and brother-in-law D. Bruce Mauch at the Robinson/Mauch table at Chamber of Commerce dinners. She was also a special guest at many events hosted by the Chelsea Rotary Club, where her husband, Bruce, was an esteemed leader and holder of a four-decade perfect attendance record at meetings.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jennifer Hassell said Wednesday, “We intend to pay tribute to this outstanding person and longtime supporter of our organization. Gail is a member of a legendary Chelsea family that goes back generations. She was a very fashionable, classy woman. She’s a Chelsea icon. Her passion for our city, her passion for Boston, and her passion for fashion are definitely going to be missed.”
