Joseph Robert Carrillo
Retired USPS Mail Carrier Known for His Kind Heart and Love of Life
A longtime Chelsea resident and winter snowbird of Lake Wales, FL, Joseph Robert Carrillo passed away in Florida on April 20, 2024. He was 75 years of age.
Born and raised in Chelsea, the son of the late Amadeo and Helen (McClellan) Carrillo, Joe was a retired mail carrier for the USPS. He dedicated 50 years of service with the Post Office until his retirement in 2018. He was known for his kind heart and his love of life. Joe loved fast cars, motorcycles and all New England sports teams. He was a late member of the Italian American Club.
Joe was the beloved fiancé and long-term partner of Caroline Cowart; dear father of Joseph Robert Carrillo, Jr., Marc Carrillo and Alison Jordan Oliver and loving brother of Joanne Chelotti. Joe is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours in the Carafa Family Funeral Home, 389 Washington Ave., Chelsea today, Thursday, May 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation in the Funeral Home at 5:30 p.m.
