Chelsea Reads! National Family Literacy Month Begins at CPL

The Chelsea Public Library’s 16th Annual Chelsea Reads: A Celebration of National Family Literacy Month kicked off Monday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Library.

Christine Ward, executive director of Raising A Reader MA, presented a beautiful, red book nook to the Library at the ceremony. City Manager Thomas Ambrosino accepted the gift on behalf of the city. CPL Librarian Sarah Gay Jackson said, “Our partnership with Raising A Reading MA over many years has become an invaluable coordinated collaboration. From Storytimes to workshops to community outreach and the sharing of simple ideas, RAR has proven to be a true asset in helping us with our mission to help children, and adults, foster a lifelong love of reading in our community and beyond. We appreciate their commitment to Chelsea and look forward to continued success in our shared love of learning and literacy
