Trouble in the Food Lines

On May 12, at 3:02 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 163 Chestnut St., near St. Stanislaus Rectory for a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance at the food distribution line. Upon arrival, the officers observed a male, under the influence of alcohol yelling obscenities at the approximately 50 people waiting in the food pantry line. The male was taken into custody and charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Truck Driver Caused Accident

On May 11, at 4:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to Everett Avenue and Broadway for a report of a motor vehicle accident with possible injury. The officers arrived to an accident involving four vehicles.  CPD officers utilized the city cameras and reviewed the accident and arrested a male operator of a pickup truck that caused the accident. The video showed the pick-up truck was operating at a high rate of speed approaching the intersection without slowing down causing the collision. The officers formed the opinion after an onsite road assessment that the operator was operating the vehicle under the influence of drugs. 

Beat With a Stick

On May 14, at 8:06 p.m., while on patrol in the Bellingham Square area, a CPD officer was flagged down for a possible disturbance. While driving down Fifth Street, a witness in a white van was yelling “stop the man with the black jacket,” he told the officers that the described person struck another male multiple times with a wooden stick. The officers approached the male suspect who threw down the wooden object and was placed under arrest for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. The victim was transported to CHA Everett for treatment of his injuries.

Unwanted Visitor in the Bathroom

On May 14, at 10:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to 185 Washington Ave., apartment 9, for a breaking and entering in progress. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the owner who informed the officers that there was an unknown party locked in her bathroom. Officers were able to gain entry into the bathroom and place the male into custody. The arrested individual was transported to CHA Everett to be evaluated
