Peter Molloy

1952 — 2019

Peter Molloy of Lynn died on March 5 after a long battle with liver cancer. He was 66 years old.

Peter grew up in Chelsea but has lived in Lynn for the past 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Susan and his son, Devin Underwood.  He is also survived by his siblings: Elaine Mastrangelo, Nancy Molloy, Denise Levy and her husband, George, John Molloy and his partner, Laurie Sullivan, Michael Molloy, David Molloy, Richard Molloy and his wife, Denise, his sister-in-law, Kathy Molloy and nieces and nephews: Nick Levy, Bryan Molloy, Stephen Molloy, Seth Molloy and his wife, Divia, Meghan Mastrangelo and Alicia Molloy, Keith Erickson and his wife, Melissa, Michelle Beard and her husband, Jeff and Nicole Dillberg and her husband, Steve; great nieces and nephews: Jakob Perkins, Gavin Erickson, Emma Erickson, Brayden Beard, Camden Beard, Malika Molloy and Delaney Dillberg.  Peter was preceded in death by his father, Tom and his mother, Doris as well as his brother, Tommy and his nephew, Michael Mastrangelo.

Because of Peter’s outgoing personality, he had a large circle of friends – too numerous to mention, but every one of them played a role in making his life full and happy.

Prior to retirement, Peter worked as a mental health counselor at Bay Ridge Hospital in Lynn. In retirement, he loved puttering in his workshop in the cellar and never “met” a power tool he didn’t love. Peter had the best sense of humor. That was his gift. He could make something funny out of nothing.  He added much to the lives of those who were lucky enough to know him and he will be missed.

Services were held on March 9 at Cuff McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, MA  (781) 599-3901. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital via www.stjude.org.  To share a memory or leave online condolences, please visitwww.cuffemcginn.com.
