David Lewis

June 21, 1966 – December 3, 2018

At 52 years of age, David Lewis of Chelsea passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, Dec. 3.

Born and raised in Chelsea, a son of Stella (Racki) Lewis and the late Winthrop L. Lewis. David attended St. Stanislaus elementary school and Chelsea High School. He began working as a glazier with US Emergency Glass Co. in Roxbury. He also worked for many years at Kayem Foods as a packaging supervisor and as a freelance construction laborer.

David participated in Chelsea Little League and enjoyed playing basketball. In later years he coached for Chelsea little league and enjoyed fishing.

He was the devoted father to Jacqueline Marie Lewis and Katherine Anne Lewis, both of Chelsea and Mariann Lewis and Diana Lewis, both of Revere. He was the cherished grandfather of Joshua David Romero, Aiyanna Lewis Romero, Valentina Lewis Romero and Edwin Romero; the loving son of Stella (Racki) Lewis of Chelsea and the late Winthrop L. Lewis, and the dear brother of Robert Lewis and his wife, Deb of Malden, Richard Lewis of Chelsea, Ronald Lewis and his wife, Patricia of Everett, Michael Lewis and Liz Bouche of Chelsea, Frank Lewis of Chelsea, Paul Lewis and his wife, Kim of Lynn, Elaine Chitopoulos and her husband, Nicholas of Medford, Winthrop E. Lewis and Lisa Mendelson of Woburn, Steven Lewis of Chelsea, and Michelle O’Neil and her husband, Shawn of Chelsea. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea on Friday, Dec. 7 from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Funeral Services will be conducted in the Funeral Home at 12 Noon. Services will conclude with Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. The Funeral Home is fully handicap accessible, ample parking opposite Funeral Home.
