PUNCHED IN THE PARK

On June 19, at 6:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to Mary O’Malley Park on Commandants Way for a report of two males fighting. Upon arrival, officers were flagged down by a pedestrian and pointed to the direction of the two males.

The officers observed one male on the ground.

The other subject was standing over victim, and the officers observed him strike victim once in the face with his closed fist. He was placed into custody.

William Hernandez-Galdamez, 35, of 263 Chestnut St., was charged with assault and battery.

 

TEXTING WHILE DRIVING

On June 20, at 5:20 p.m., a CPD officer was in a marked police cruiser at Williams Street at Broadway. The officer observed the operator of the vehicle holding a cell phone in his right hand and texting while using both hands. The officer noticed the vehicle move in traffic while operator continued to use his cell phone with his head down. The officer pulled the vehicle over and found the driver to not have a valid license. He was placed under arrest.

Thales Silva, 21, of 74 Chestnut St., was charged with unlicensed operation and sending/reading text messages.

 

FOUND WITH KNIFE

On June 18, at 1:45 a.m., officers were monitoring traffic in the area of Cary Avenue and Tudor Street when they observed a vehicle fail to stop at the intersection. Officers stopped then car. The operator was found to have a suspended license. During a search of the subject officers recovered a knife that was illegally possessed.

Bryan Cabrera, 21, of 45 Heard St., was charged with stop sign violation, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent), and carrying a dangerous weapon.

 

BEATEN FOR NO REASON

On June 20, at 7:52 p.m., officers responded to a reported assault victim in the area of Compare Market. The victim stated that two males attacked him for no reason. Officers observed individuals that were identified by victim and both were placed under arrest. The victim was transported to CHA Everett for his injuries.

Luis Llanso, 34, of Roxbury, was charged with assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and two warrants.

Harold Aguirre Godoy, 23, of 154 Shawmut St., was charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
