Chelsea High School Athletic Director Frank DePatto and Chelsea Community Cable Television Executive Director Robert Bradley are set to launch a new organization that will continue the tradition of honoring outstanding CHS athletes and alumni.Leo Robinson, Chelsea councilor-at-large, said he will attend the firs meeting of the group that is scheduled for Feb. 17.DePatto, Bradley, and Robinson are original members of the Chelsea Varsity Club that regularly held induction ceremonies for the Chelsea High School Hall of Fame. Some of Chelsea High’s most illustrious ath-letes, including Saul Nechtem, Paul “Choc” Glazer, Anthony “Chubby” Tiro, Lew Perkins, Bobby Spinney, Craig Walker, Tina Rizzo, Linda Lush, Kristin Rosa, and Kim Lanzillo are inductees in the CHS Hall of Fame. The late Arnold Goodman was instrumental in the success of the Hall of Fame.And now to DePatto’s credit, the long-time athletic director, along with the new board members, will review candidates qualificationsand select a new class of honorees for recognition.We commend Frank DePatto and Robert Bradley for their efforts in re-storing this excellent tradition. We look forward to seeing the list of those CHS alumni whose extraordinary achievements on the fieldand in their careers will be saluted at a future awards ceremony.One of the firstorders of business at the Feb. 17 meeting will be to select a new name for the group headed by DePatto.
