Football will be the main dish on the menu for Thanksgiving morning when Coach Mike Stellato and his Chelsea High football team take to the gridiron for a 10:00 kickoff at Dilboy Field in Somerville against Matignon High School.
The Red Devils have had a successful season, compiling a 5-5 record which qualified them for the playoffs under the new MIAA football post-season format. A victory on Turkey Day will give Stellato and his crew a winning record for the 2013 campaign.
We hope as many of the Red Devil faithful as possible will make the trek to Somerville for the contest to root on the Red & Black. Sure, the weatherman is predicting blustery conditions for the holiday, but that’s half the fun — and for the players on the field, it is sure to make for a memorable experience they’ll never forget, because playing on Thanksgiving is what it’s all about for every high school football player.
