William Crowley

William A. Crowley of Chelsea passed away on June 18 at the Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett following a brief illness. He was 70 years old.
Born in the West End, he was the son of Robert and Mary (Connelly) Crowley. He attended St. Joseph Parochial School in the West End and Don Bosco High School in Boston. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps, served during Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1965.
William worked for many years as a telephone repairman for New England Tel and Tel. He lived for many years in South Boston and East Boston and has been residing in Chelsea for the past 10 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in South Boston and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed playing games of chance.
He was the loving son of the late Robert and Mary (Connelly) Crowley; dear brother of Carole Ciampa of East Boston, Eileen Morrill of Quincy and Robert Crowley of Sagamore and the cherished Godfather of Julie Perelli of Chelsea.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Chapel at Chelsea Soldiers Home on Tuesday, June 25. Services concluded with full Military Honors and Interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Anthony Memorial / Frank A. Welsh and Sons Funeral Homes.
