After numerous delays for the last several months, the city’s Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) approved a permanent license for Enterprise Rent-A-Car to park hundreds of cars in an existing lot near the new Chelsea Street Bridge.
For many years, the rental car company has operated the rental car storage lot on a temporary license, but on Tuesday the ZBA went forward and made the license permanent. The company was given the right to park 646 vehicles on the lot.
In other news, the ZBA approved a proposal that will allow the Molly Corporation to operate a marine petroleum testing lab at 235 Marginal St. in part of an existing building.
Two major applications were heard, but have not yet received a recommendation from the Planning Board, and will be continued until the Aug. 14th meeting.
Those projects were a 56-unit apartment building proposed for the Chelsea Commons development, and a veterans housing group home in the old American Legion Building on Shurtleff Street by The Neighborhood Developers.
