Pollo Campero hit by runaway auto

Pollo Campero, the Park Square chicken king, had an unwanted visitor that roughed up the place last Sunday.

At about 3:45 a.m., Marvin Villenueva, 23, a Chelsea resident, was driving into Park Square when he lost control of his automobile, sped into the Pollo Campero parking lot and smashed into the rear outside wall of the building causing a fair amount of damage.

His black Toyota Camry suffered heavy front-end damage.

It turns out, according to police, that Villenueva was not rushing to Pollo Campero for a chicken dinner when he lost control of his car.

Police said Villenuela did not appear to be steady on his feet.

He was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

In addition, he was found to be operating his vehicle without a license.

During the booking process at the Chelsea Police Station, he was tested for alcohol in his blood. It was found to be 0.16 – twice the legal limit.

He was arraigned in Chelsea District Court Monday on charges of unlicensed operation and OUI.

Pollo Campero is closed for repairs.
